CBS: construction materials wholesale -9.1% in 2012

March 2013 - Wholesalers in building materials posted a 9.1% loss of sales last year. This is evident from recent figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). The index that stood at 108.8 at the end of 2011 (2005 = 100), stood at 98.9 at the end of 2012.

With -5.5%, the first quarter of 2012 was still the best in relative terms. In the second and fourth quarters, the decline in turnover was even more than ten percent. In the third quarter, the building materials wholesale sector remained just below that level. CBS also provides insight into the stock position of the wholesale trade.
