Matomo 3.5.0 introduces new Privacy tools to help you comply with the AVG/GDPRguidelines. For example, you can now easily export or delete data from any visitor or visit.
With new tools, you can anonymize old data (IP address, replace User ID with a pseudonym, etc.), and you can ask the gebriuker for permission.
Security has been improved: Tracking codes, for example, use HTTPS more often. You can also configure Matomo to connect to the database over SSL. Matomo's performance has been improved, even under high data processing load with several performance improvements.
You can activate the new GeoIp2 plug-in to use the modern geolocation database. So it is recommended to use the GeoIp2 geolocation driver for more reliable geolocation information. Since Geoip1 databases are no longer updated we recommend using Geoip2 if possible.
Finally, several Privacy-by-design improvements have been made to the Tracker Proxy tool.
