Your online stock always up to date

In the blog series E-Commerce and CRM to King we describe the advantages of integrating a CRM system (vtiger) and a web store (Magento) to King Business Software. In this blog part 5: your online stock always up-to-date.
Stocks

With the King stock administration link with your Magento webshop, you can indicate in your webshop whether an article is in stock and orders can be placed. Conversely, orders from the Magento webshop are processed directly into your stock administration.

Periodically the actual stock levels are synchronized between King and the Magento webshop. Also in case of sales through the webshop, the stock is reduced both in the webshop and in King.

What to do in case of low stock

As an organization in a low stock situation, ask yourself how often can delivery not be made within the specified time? This depends on the number of orders at the time. Most organizations have a maximum delivery time of 24 to 48 hours. Solution can be to forward free stock from King to the webshop. If the free stock is zero, just let the customer order. Then call him or her and discuss delivery.

There are many items that are not available in stock anyway. Therefore, putting out a product on the website based on available stock is not an option. Customers often order to replenish their own stock, some delay in delivery is usually not a problem.

Ordering on demand

If many products are ordered on demand, delivery and delivery time depend on the stock of the wholesaler/supplier.
A possible alternative could be to offer a similar product if the expected delivery time is too long. For the time being, all articles (including stock) can be sent to the webshop which have a marking of 'web article' in King. Publish all articles, regardless of stock position and size.

Define your own regime

The link between King and Magento and vice versa in terms of inventories is flexible. Research what competitors promise to customers, but determine your own way of working in this.
