10 billion euro damage from cybercrime
Cybercrime costs Dutch organizations ten billion euros per year. The economic damage caused by cybercrime is greatest in the public sector (2.4 million euros). This is evident from a study by Deloitte.
The most common cyber threats, according to Deloitte analysts, are: interruption of operational continuity (41 percent), third-party and privacy-related information (19 percent), reduced reliability (18 percent), loss of intellectual property (12 percent) and loss of strategic information (9 percent).

As an organization, you can counter cybercrime and prevent damage by safe computer use, among other things. Below are a number of tips that we would like to give you for the safe use of e-mail and the Internet in general.
E-mail messages, SPAM and safe senders
Add every email address known to you to your list of contacts and what you consider 'safe' senders. This will prevent important e-mail from entering your inbox as 'SPAM' or 'junk mail'.
Recent version browser
Use a recent version of your browser. Set your security level to "normal. You can choose from five Internet browsers namely Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Apple Safari. A firewall monitors incoming and outgoing Internet traffic. If there is suspicious traffic, you get an immediate warning. This prevents hackers from accessing your PC.

Do not store confidential information on your PC. For example, do not create a document in which you store your passwords. In addition, make sure you do not use the "remember password" feature.
Cookies
Through the Internet options in your browser you can delete 'cache' and 'cookies' in the browser history. This is very useful if you have accidentally chosen the 'remember password' function on another computer. This prevents people using the computer from easily logging in with your data.
Install vtiger Security Module plug-in
Are you already using the vtiger Security Module? With this module you can set the period within which you are forced to set a new password. With this 'mandatory' password change within the vtiger CRM system all your customer, marketing and sales data is better protected. More information
These are just a few tips for safer computing. But by implementing these tips concretely, you reduce your chances of becoming a victim of hackers and other cybercriminals.
